We use only premium high-quality fertilizers, absent pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides—just a great food source for the turf. Fertilizer specifications are available upon request.
For optimal lawn health, we recommend five applications throughout the year: Early Spring, Spring, Summer, Early Fall, and the essential winterizer at season’s end.
Fertilization
Weed Control
Traditional weed control programs overuse toxic chemicals, often combining herbicides with fertilizers or spraying entire lawns regardless of need. These excessive treatments—up to six times per season—lead to unnecessary chemical exposure, harm soil health, and contribute to the shocking 80 million pounds of lawn chemicals used annually.
Our Weed Management: Use only what is needed. For weeds, we take a targeted approach—after fertilization, our technicians carefully spot-treat weeds with minimal herbicide.
We value customer communication—just text or email us anytime we need to be on the lawn and we’ll be there at no extra charge. We run dedicated weekly weed routes, ensuring quick responses. Never a charge for spot weed work! And we never use ATV's. Running a heavy ATV all over the lawn causes serious compaction to the turf, complicating nutrient and moisture movement through the substrate and always leads to an over application of chemicals.
Bottom line: We minimize chemicals, prioritize lawn health, and offer superior service—because less is better!
Aeration
Aeration significantly enhances nutrient/moisture movement through the soil substrate by reducing soil compaction.
Our aeration ensures that pulled plugs in fact are deep and thorough. Plug depth is key! We use only state-of-the-art, well-maintained aerators. And we ensure a systematic and thorough aerating pattern across the turf.
Overseed
Over time, grass reaches its peak and needs replenishing to stay lush and thick. Factors like age, foot traffic, heat, lack of water, and pet waste contribute to its decline. The secret to healthy turf is regularly adding high-quality Deluxe Premium seed.
Proper seed application is key! Applying the right amount of seed helps generate new grass, resulting in a thicker, healthier lawn. This strengthens the turf, making it more resistant to disease, insects, and weeds. Thick grass shades out weeds, reducing the need for herbicides.
Grub Control
White grubs are beetle larvae that damage grass roots, often creating brown patches that appear under-watered. You may notice grass lifting like sod, a sign grubs are feeding. In Wisconsin, the two main types of grubs are May/June beetles and Japanese beetles. They are creamy white with brown heads, curl into a circle, and attract animals like raccoons, moles, and skunks. These animals dig up your lawn more than the grubs themselves.
To prevent damage, we offer two treatment windows:
Early Spring (March-April) targets mature grubs that emerge from dormancy. The grubs are closer to the soil surface and more vulnerable to treatment.
Fall (late summer) is ideal for killing juvenile grubs before they burrow deep. The most effective treatment is Acelepryn, which targets both stages and uses a limestone carrier with 7% potassium.
